Lucy is an experienced NHS manager with over 27 years’ experience working across both primary and secondary care, General Practice, GP Federations, PCNs and Training Hubs.
Lucy provides project management support and expertise primarily to the North Staffordshire GP Federation predominantly on workforce: GP recruitment and retention; Physician Associates and more recently support with advertising and recruitment of the PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) roles.
Lucy is very committed, hardworking, a complete to finisher and operational focused on delivery of outcomes, and strives on strong and credible working relationships formed over many years within the NHS which she continues to build upon.
More recently, Lucy has been commissioned by Health Education England (HEE) to project manage a programme which has been extremely successfully in Staffordshire with similar programmes now been developed across the Midlands and East.
Lucy has been successful with the delivery of projects on a local, regional, and national level:
o Staffordshire Physician Associate Internship Scheme was the first internship in the country to be developed. The programme has seen a total of 28 PAs on the programme. The internship was shortlisted for a HSJ award in 2019. HEE have recognised the Internship as a pilot for consideration for national rollout.
o Similar internship models developed for Shropshire & Telford & Wrekin Physician Associate Internship and Birmingham & Solihull Physician Associate Internship.
o Support to retain GP locums to remain working locally by successfully bidding for funding to support a GP Locum Network group to support locum GPs with CPD and peer support which is facilitated by a GP Tutor.
o Implemented a GP Locum platform (findmealocum) for GP practices to advertise practice sessions with the next phase to develop a nurse locum bank for disease specific areas.
o Supported over 13 PCNs with the DES Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) with the advertising and recruitment of over 40 roles including: clinical pharmacists / physician associates / pharmacy technicians / social prescribers / care co-ordinator / first contact physiotherapy / dieticians and occupational therapists.
o Development of a pilot accelerated training programme for PCN PAs in Staffordshire.
